Understanding what is happening in the world of publishing right now – 1

If, before the Covid pandemic, the sales of new titles to old titles were sort of equally 50% each, during the pandemic the sales of new titles dropped to one-tenth of what they had been, while the sales of old titles increased substantially.

However, from November or so, the sales of new titles have been recovering slowly, so that they are now something like a third of what they had been before the pandemic – or perhaps four-tenths.

Still not brilliant, but at least moving in the right direction.
