Dr Jenny M. Taylor

Dr Jenny M. TaylorJenny M. Taylor, widely recognized as a cultural analyst, trained with the Yorkshire Post Group before breaking her indentures to join The Evening Advertiser as a Senior Reporter in Swindon. Her Ph.D., at the School of Oriental and African Studies University of London, was on secularization and Islam and led to the founding of Lapido Media, after the London Tube Bombings in 2005.  The charity was described by historian Tom Holland as “ground-breaking”, working to improve media coverage of social change due to globalisation. Fellow in Journalism at Kirby Laing Centre for Public Theology in Cambridge, she now writes for The Big Picture, and has contributed to The GuardianThe Times, academic journals, and (in translation) the European press.  Her earlier books are A Wild Constraint (Continuum 2008); and, with Lesslie Newbigin & Lamin Sanneh, Faith and Power: Christianity and Islam in ‘Secular’ Britain (SPCK 1998; Wipf & Stock 2005).  www.jennytaylor.media
